 Christian Character Club was developed at Bible Baptist Church in West Chester, Pennsylvania.  The idea began as those working with the young people realized the great need for the development of Christian character in the lives of the children of the church.  Once a young person is saved, he needs to allow the Holy Spirit to develop within him Christian qualities which will conform him to the image of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29).

Christian Character Club strives to guide a young person to Christlikeness.

 Each lesson in the Christian Character Club program is centered around a particular Christian trait.  This trait is demonstrated through a Biblical character or example.  Each lesson, therefore, has as its aim the communication of that Christian trait as a part of an overall Christian character.  Each week the clubbers learn definitions of various character traits such as obedience, honesty, humility, etc., and memorize Scripture verses pertaining to each trait.  However, mere memorization is not the emphasis of the program.  Through the use of appropriate songs, games, crafts, awards and Bible Character studies, the clubbers are encouraged to put these truths into action in their everyday lives.
