Today

Our missionaries to Kenya, Brent & Carolyn Halstead, will be with us this evening. Brother Halstead will give a ministry update as well as preach in the evening service.

 Next Sunday

Next Sunday, May 27, we will have Dr. & Mrs. Seth Custer who will present a sacred concert on the saxophone and harp. Dr. Custer is on the music theory faculty and Mrs. Custer is a harp instructor at Bob Jones University.

 Special Thanks

We are also grateful for the ladies of the Women’s Missionary Fellowship and those who assisted in the Mother Daughter Banquet last evening.

 WCCS Commencement

The Senior Class of West Chester Christian School announces its Commencement Exercises on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Bible Baptist Church auditorium.

 Sunday School Promotion

Sunday, June 3 is Promotion Sunday.  All children Newborn - 5th grade will go to their current classroom and the teacher will escort them to their new classroom. (Current 6th graders should go directly to the Youth Room). Pre-school children will be promoted based upon their age as of September 1, 2012. If your 4 year old child is 5 before September 1, he will be promoted; if he is still 4 on September 1, he will not be promoted.

 All Day Staff Planning Meeting

There will be an all day staff planning meeting on Tuesday, June 5. If you have an activity you would like added to the Church Calendar, please submit an Activity Request Form to the church office or Welcome Center by Sunday, June 3.

 

 

Special Meetings

Mark your calendars for special meetings with John Van Gelderen June 24-29. While the main thrust of the meetings will be revival for our church, Sunday morning and Friday evening will be geared to reaching the lost for Christ. There will be a prayer meeting on Saturday, June 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the church auditorium. Flyers for the meeting are available in the lobby. 

 Bookstore Special

From the Garden to the City: The Redeeming and Corrupting Power of Technology by John Dyer is available through the bookstore for $10.00 each. In this book, Mr. Dyer deconstructs the concept of technology and examines it through the lens of Scripture. Studying Bible passages and insights from the best thinkers on technology, theology, and culture, John Dyer shows how technology left unexamined can enslave us rather than honor God and fulfill his plan for us. With helpful observations and practical application, Dyer issues an urgent challenge to live faithfully in this technology-saturated world. Envelopes are available at the Welcome Center.
