Bible. We study the Old Testament of the Bible, emphasizing life lessons to be learned from the events and characters. Throughout the year, we also learn passages of Scripture to reinforce the lessons.

Math. After beginning the year with a basic review, we spent a great deal of time learning about percentages and their practical applications. In the Spring we also work with a little geometry and algebra.

Science. We try to gain an overview of God's creation throughout the school year as we learn about the earth, the universe, plants and animals, the atom, energy and motion, and systems of the human body.

History. We will introduce the major ancient civilizations of the world. As we look at the each cultures view of God, we will see the effect it has on culture, customs, and history.

Reading. Our excellent reading materials introduce each student to the joys of good literature while emphasizing thinking and comprehension. The curriculum is supplemented with good children's literature - both contemporary and classics.

English. Grammar will provide students with the tools they need to communicate in both oral and written form. The students will put their skills to work throughout the year in research papers.

Creative Writing. At least once each marking period, we will be practicing skills that will make us better writers. Creative words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, stories, and poems will be attempted throughout the year.

Spelling.  Throughout the year we will be learning the basic sounds and syllables used in our English language.  Students will be come familiar with many "Wise Choices" for correct spelling.
