ABOUT MR. BOSTON

Welcome to my Teacher Page!  Allow me a few minutes to introduce myself.

My name is Randy Boston and I've been teaching in the intermediate grades at WCCS for the past 28 years.  I grew up in the small town of Shickshinny in the Susquehanna River Valley in northeastern Pennsylvania.  When I was thirteen years old,  the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sinfulness and the judgment that my sin deserved during a message preached by my pastor on a Sunday evening.  After struggling a few weeks with agreeing with that picture of myself, I called in faith upon the Lord Jesus to save me based upon His grace available in His death, burial, and resurrection as my only hope of  a right standing before God.

Between my junior and senior years of high school, the Lord called me into His service through a message at Camp Pamadeva in Hanover, Pennsylvania.  I knelt with my pastor under a tree outside the open- air tabernacle and surrendered my life and my will to the Lord.  The Lord directed me to Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania in Clarks Summit to prepare for a lifetime of ministry.

Following Him one step at a time, God led me to West Chester Christian School in the fall of 1979.  Besides my classroom responsibilities, I am the faculty advisor for our elementary drama club that does choral readings at special events during the year,  prepares special chapel programs for the primary and intermediate grades, and puts on a 45 minute play in the spring.  I also serve as chaplain for the traveling squad of the WCCS Guardsmen.

A few personal notes may avoid some confusion.  The Elementary Principal, Miss Brenda Boston, is my sister.  My wife,  Brenda Sue Boston, and I  celebrated our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on July 17 of this year.  My wife is trained as an educational therapist and elementary teacher.  She has served as a teacher's aide, an educational therapist, and assisted with the aftercare program at WCCS.  She currently works at KinderCare in Thorndale.

Mrs. Boston and I have four children.  Joanna graduated from WCCS in 2001 and Northland Baptist Bible College in Wisconsin this past May.   Joanna had the opportunity to teach English in Chengdu, China the past three summers.  She will be ministering as a high-school English teacher at a Christian School in Texas this school year with long- term aspirations of returning to China on a full-time basis.  Bethany graduated from WCCS in 2004 and is returning to Northland as a senior math education major.  She ministered as an intern in Minneapolis (yes, she was there the day the bridge collapsed)  this summer in a church with a ministry of teaching English as a second language in partial fulfillment of the requirements for her minor.   Tim, a 2006 WCCS alumnus, is seeking  the Lord's leading as a sophomore Pastoral Studies student at  Northland Baptist Bible College.  He is planning to spend next summer ministering in the Caribbean and spent much of the summer preparing workers to join him for a short-term mission trip as part of that ministry.   Caleb, a WCCS junior,  enjoys belting out the low notes in the school band on his tuba and fixing things.  His new challenges for the school year will include taking command of the Guardsmen  The highlights of his summer included getting his driver's license, working with a dry-wall contractor, and spending the summer at his grandmother's.   He also used his time to build up the youth ministry in Shickshinny by following up on his previous VBS contacts and encouraging the boys in the church to be faithful to the ministry.

The Lord has been good to us during our years at WCCS and we are looking forward to another exciting year of God's blessing!
